Cold but fun

Yesterday we headed up to a morning program with our home school group at the forest preserve. It was windy and 3 degress but they learned a bunch. The kids headed off to separate groups to learn about geology. The youngest was in heaven as he loves rocks. He got to sort rocks(learn about classification). He learned how sedimentary rock is formed by using grahm crakers, chocolate pudding, and sprinkles. Here he is enjoying his creation.

The eldest was disappointed with his group. They were disruptive and consumed so much of the instructor's time they never had time for their "glacier" experiment. When we met up at the end he declared, "they were just as bad as the old public school kids".

I stopped at the sledding hill before we left but it was so cold they only lasted about 20 minutes.

Last night Chance tested in Taekwondo to advance a belt color. I was at a home school meeting but Dad videotaped the event and I watched it when I got home. He passed and he even got to break a board with his fist while Dad held the board. He was just a bit exited this morning about the whole event.

Watch his test below, (just click on the arrow button in the center of the box).
